Artist Statement

Some of my earliest memories evoke the spirit of creativity and my desire to craft my environment. Creating polymer clay monsters at the kitchen table, acting in home movies with my sister, drawing giant eyes with chicken legs in class notebooks - I wanted my imaginations to walk with me. I think of the creative phases of my life of wanting to be a singer, an actor, and a chef; being a visual artist has always my most consistent practice.

My work explores the facets of human experience; the strange, sexy, magic parts of our history, identity, and emotions. I play with fantasy and invite my viewers to revisit ones they had long forgotten or give life to new ones! I want you to laugh, ask questions, feel all your feelings when interacting with my work. It is my goal to reach at least one person - to give moment of introspection.

These moments are created through variations of ink and paper. Focusing in printmaking, collage, and drawing I continue to push my understandings of these mediums to bring curiosity and respite.
