About the Artist
Isaac H. Wood
Isaac Wood started his career in mixed media works and photography and quickly moved into printmaking. He has since expanded his specialties to letterpress work, linoleum carvings, silk-screening and book arts. His work follows concepts of healing and emotional narratives through a lens of abstraction. He earned his BA in Art in 2017 from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
My art tends to follow themes of acceptance, sexuality, mortality, history, and identity, allowing me to expand my knowledge of each subject through personal experience and research. They allow me to acknowledge where I stand on current events, observe the changes of each theme with their relation to our society, and to be vulnerable by sharing my work. It is my goal to reach at least one person, to give them a moment of contemplation, a moment to say I see you.
Ink and paper are some of my favorite materials to use. They are so versatile in practice and have grown and evolved over time. While my studies focused in letterpress and book arts over the past few years I have expanded my love of printmaking into other areas of the media allowing me to embrace new methods, challenging what I have come to know as a print.
